# Create an organisation

Passes belong to an organisation. Its history stays in the EU or the US, whichever you choose.

From the site: https://tollrelay.com/signup asks for the organisation name, a handle, where your data is kept (the EU or the US) and a work email, then sends a link that signs you in. Where your data is kept cannot be changed later.

From a terminal:

```sh
npx trlay@latest init --region eu
```

From code: `POST https://api.trlay.dev/identity/orgs`, described at https://api.trlay.dev/openapi.json.

We send a link that signs you in. Didit, our verification provider, checks your business once. It takes a minute, and sellers rely on it before they trust the passes you issue.
